I have concerns about AI and its impact on my child. How will I know the AI is safe?

We have three AI coaches that are specifically trained to provide responses and support for the content in our courses. Our AI coaches use content filtering and are programmed with strict guardrails to avoid harmful content. Any queries outside of our curriculum will either be redirected to the appropriate resource or will guide the student back to the course material. Most importantly, all interactions with the AI coaches are recorded and monitored for inappropriate use; if there are consistently off-topic or inappropriate queries, we will know within 24 hours and you will be notified immediately.

How do I know my child isn't using AI to cheat on their homework?

All conversations are recorded and monitored daily by our team. If there are inappropriate questions that are outside of the course's topic (such as "write my English essay" or "solve this math problem"), we will flag and notify you immediately. Examples of appropriate questions include "Can you explain this concept further?" or "How does this relate to what we learned earlier?" Consistent and/or long-term abuse of AI privileges will result in removal from the course, with no refund.

What about data privacy? How do I know my child's data is safe?

Any data we collect will only be used to improve the Your Next Step experience and will not be personally identifiable outside our platform. We collect information such as course progress, time spent on modules, and AI conversation logs. All data is encrypted and stored securely, following industry-standard security protocols. We do not sell personal information to third parties. You can review our complete privacy policy on our website.

How do I know my child is actually working on the course and making progress?

We will be sending you weekly progress reports showing how far your child has advanced in the curriculum. If we observe little to no activity, please follow up with your child and help them stay accountable. This program is designed to ensure your child has the foundation for post-secondary success, no matter what path they choose to take.

What age groups/grade levels is this program designed for?

Your Next Step is designed for students in grades 9-12 (typically ages 14-18). Different course modules are tailored to specific grade levels to ensure age-appropriate content and challenges.

How much time should my child spend on the program each week?

We recommend students dedicate 2-3 hours per week to the program for optimal results. The program is flexible, allowing students to work at their own pace, but consistent engagement produces the best outcomes.

Can I view the curriculum content before enrolling my child?

Yes! We offer a free preview of our curriculum on our website, you can view sample lessons and activities.

Can you tell me about the monthly live sessions?

For all subscribers, we will host monthly webinars that deep dive into the optics introduced in the curriculum. For example, we talk about best practices for conducting interviews and provide a AI coaching interview experience. Our monthly webinar will go deeper into how to conduct one’s self in interviews, tips and tricks, and potentially, live role play as a supplementary learning experience.

What if my child needs additional support or has questions beyond what the AI coaches can provide?

In addition to our AI coaches, we have a team of human educators available for support for an additional fee. Students can schedule one-on-one virtual sessions with our education specialists for more complex questions or personalized guidance. Parents can also reach out to our support team via email during business hours.

How does the program complement school curriculum?

Your Next Step is designed to enhance rather than replace traditional school learning. Our program focuses on critical thinking, future planning, and practical life skills that are often not covered in depth in standard curricula. The content focuses on career exploration and personal development opportunities.

As a parent, will I be able to access the AI coaches as well?

We will send you progress reports that outline where your child is in the curriculum. This transparency allows you to stay involved, while respecting your child's learning independence. Though you will not have direct access, rest assured we are monitoring chats every weekday for any inappropriate content. You can expect to hear from us about any red flags, as we also have a commitment to remove any learners who abuse the AI coach privileges.

What devices/technology requirements are needed for the program?

The program works on any device with internet access and a modern web browser (desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone). We recommend a minimum internet speed of 5 Mbps for optimal performance. Some features may work better on larger screens, so a tablet or computer is preferable to a smartphone for extended use.

What happens if we need to pause or cancel the program?

You can cancel your subscription at any time. There is no commitment to maintaining your subscription. Should you choose to cancel, please note we will keep your progress on file for 3 months; after 3 months, it will be removed from the site. Should you choose to return at a future date, you will need to complete the courses again in order to access the content.
